Holy Death Doulas

Earth has called me to the role of Death Doula for the Great Dying, which is to say, to support the dying that is these times of crisis. I believe more than ever, this crisis is Earth's dreaming of a collective initiation for our species. In initiation, we need guides and allies, and there needs to be both a crisis - the way of living the old life is dying, and a call - a deep longing for Soul, Mystery, Magic. To amplify the call, I am a storyteller, singer and ritual performer. To tend the crisis as and at the threshold of these times, I call together the Holy Death Doulas - those who feel the call with me to psychopomp the old ways of being that are dying. If we are to, as Vanessa Machado de Oleveira says, hospice modernity, then we must come together as Death Doulas in service to Earth and the Holy in the Wild. Our guides are the Elements of Earth, Fire, Water and Air, the stones and beings who have lived far longer than we humans, our own wise and well ancestors and those who dreamed these times for us.
The following questions willl be guiding our experimentation...
~ How can our work together support the collective initiation of the human species to turn towards the death of the old way of life (modernity) and surrender to it's dying, including the ways we collude with and are part of modernity?
~ How can we give appreciation and gratitude to the ways our lives have been held/nourished/benefited by the current socio-cultural paradigm?
~ How might the ways of modernity that live in us be ready to die and how might we support them to do so, allowing our own grieving, dying, transforming of consciousness?
~ What needs to be spoken/feelings expressed in order to clear and cleanse, finish any unfinished business?
~ What in modernity is ready to die? How can we praise this one/these ones as they are moving towards death?
~ How might we ritually give permission to those elements ready to die to and as the current paradigm?
~ What might "psychopomping"/helping the dying to cross over look like, psycho-spiritually?
~ What ritual might be wanting to be co-created for these dying ones by us in order to usher this dying part through the birth canal of death in order for them to become a wise and well ancestor (woah, radical thought- what if the toxic parts of the system ready to die, which, blessed and praised, lovingly permissioned to die and supported through the birth canal of death, might continue to evolve/heal and become wise and well ancestors/guides for us in these times?)
~ Which spiritual allies and helpers are already wise and well and ready to support us/help this process from the other side/unseen?
~ Who are the other than human allies and guides in this world that are wanting and ready to help?
